THEY CONTAIN IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT YOUR RIGHTS AND OBLIGATIONS.
By accessing the Shapco Printing Inc. site, you are hereby accepting and agreeing to be legally bound by the terms and conditions of this agreement. If you do not agree to all of the following terms and conditions, you may not use the site or access any features or services provided on or through the site.
Before submitting a print job, please review our Help Center information.
Please keep in mind turnaround times when submitting a job. Time delays may occur if you do not follow the file guidelines outlined in our FAQ.
If you have any questions regarding proper sizing, color mode, resolution, bleed and live area, please download the appropriate file from our Templates-Download section.
Please don't hesitate to contact us, we’re here to help you with any questions you may have, advice or technical support.
Shapco Printing Inc. will reproduce color from submitted print-ready files as closely as possible, but cannot exactly match color and density (as viewed in a 5000K light booth). Because of inherent limitations with the printing process, as well as neighboring image ink requirements, the accuracy of color reproduction is not guaranteed. By placing an order with Shapco Printing Inc. you agree to this limitation. We will try our best to match the gradient density of each color, but we accept no responsibility for color variations between submitted files and the final printed piece. Under no circumstances will a reprint be honored for color variations that have occurred during the printing process. We are not liable for color matching or ink density on screen proofs that you approve. Screen proofs will predict design layout, text accuracy, image proportion and placement, but not color or density. Application of UV coating may effect or change the appearance of the printed colors. We are not liable for the final color appearance of a UV coated product.
OVER-RUN AND UNDER-RUN POLICY
Due to the gang run method that Shapco Printing Inc. uses, we cannot guarantee that every order will be the exact number of items which was ordered. Shapco Printing Inc. can only guarantee that it will come within plus or minus 10% of the number of items ordered.
Our prepress department prefight’s your print files before printing, but you are still 100% responsible for the accuracy of your print-ready files. We suggest you proofread your files carefully before submitting to Shapco Printing Inc.. Shapco Printing Inc. is not responsible for any issues as to orientation or alignment of the pages of your submitted artwork. By submitting artwork to Shapco Printing Inc., you acknowledge that you have the right to use the image(s) in your files. DO NOT send any "one-of-kind" transparencies, prints or artwork. Although we take every precaution to safeguard your materials, we are NOT responsible for loss or damage of images or artwork.
Under these Terms and Conditions, you agree that you will NOT upload any artwork files consisting of the following material: offensive, indecent or improper material, any material that could give rise to any civil or criminal liability under applicable law; and any material that could infringe rights of privacy, publicity, copyrights or other intellectual property rights without the permission of the owner of these rights and the persons who are shown in the material if applicable. We will refuse an order, which in our opinion may be illegal in nature or an infringement on the rights of any third party. You accept full legal liability for the content of material processed and printed on your behalf and under your instructions. We reserve the right to refuse an order without disclosing a reason.
NO LIABILITY FOR ERRORS
Shapco Printing Inc. is not liable for errors in a final product caused by any of the following reasons:
Misspelling, Graphics, Bleeds, Grammar, Damage Fonts, Punctuation, Wrong Cuts, Incorrect or Missing Folds, Die Lines, Crop Marks, Transparency, Overprint, Cracks on Folds, Finished Product Size. Shapco Printing Inc. does not make any changes on customer files.
A free electronic PDF proof comes with all orders. Once a file has been uploaded, it will take 24 hours for your proof to be ready for review. Your proof will be available for viewing in My Account / Orders History / Order Details. No job will be sent to press without customer approval. It is the customer’s responsibility to view and approve or make changes to their proof. We are not liable for delays in the order caused by customer's non-approval of the proof.
An electronic proof is by no means an accurate color reproduction of your final printed piece but is the final opportunity for you to check the layout, bleeds, crops and final text. Electronic proofs do not show transparency and over print issues. Neither do they show color change from RGB or Pantone to CMYK.
The proof must be treated as independent from the original submitted file and thoroughly reviewed prior to approval. It should be checked against the original file for possible errors in layout, copy, spacing, punctuation or image placement. Customer is fully responsible for all that is contained in the final approved proof.
Shapco Printing Inc. offers hard copy proofs which show reasonable likeness to the final printed pieces. Such proofs are recommended for color-critical art and must be requested by the customer when the print order is made. Hard copy proofs are printed on a substrate different from the actual paper stock and while its main purpose is to show color, variations may occur depending on the finish selected (AQ, Matte, UV) for the final print job. We do not offer hard copy proofs for art that would be printed on uncoated paper.
The request for a hard copy proof will involve an additional fee and will extend the amount of time needed to complete the job. For orders where a hard copy proof has been requested, the approval must be received by Shapco Printing Inc. on or before our published cut-off times. We will make every effort to match colors in production when a hard copy proof is requested. However, it is the customer's responsibility to determine if they need a hard copy proof with their print order and to let us know at the time the order is placed.
A symmetrical 1/8" bleed must be included for designs that have content extending to the trim line. Important content must be excluded from the safety zone, which is defined as the inner 1/8" margin from the trim lines. Shapco Printing Inc. allows for a 1/16" margin of error for the cutting and bindery process, therefore adherence to bleed and caution margins are important to image fidelity.
All prices are quoted based on the following general terms and conditions, unless specifically stated otherwise in the written quotation. Prices quoted are based on our understanding of the job specifications given at the time of the request for quotation and are subject to review when pieces have been received. To avoid any misunderstanding, and to ensure that all customer work is processed in an orderly manner, all mailing services instructions should be in writing. Instructions not provided in writing may lead to problems for which we cannot be responsible.
Sometimes you already know what logo and pictures you want to use. Maybe you already have some great copy written and some beautiful photographs. You need to edit on one of our designs, or simply need to reorder? We can manage special design requests and services, design modifications, and edits for you.
If you choose to use our design services there are a few things you should know:
We work with a variety of designers, most of whom are independent contractors or are self-employed. They have all agreed to a set of pricing guidelines for each design level option for each product Shapco Printing Inc. offers. However design work is something that is not easily measurable and prices are subject to change depending on complexity or number of revisions or other unforeseen factors. Shapco Printing Inc. always has the best interests of our customers, our employees, and our designers in mind, so we will make sure every client is notified of any pricing changes and that they are agreed to BEFORE that work is done.
Our designers have agreed to a set of terms and conditions to work with our clients, and we ask our clients to do the same.
MAILING SCHEDULE AND TURNAROUND
All print jobs with Mailing Services will add 1 business day to the posted turnaround times.
We require at least four (4) days for job processing of Mailing Services starting from the day we receive your mailing (data) list. WE CANNOT MAIL YOUR JOB WITHOUT RUSH FEES IF YOU DO NOT PROVIDE YOUR MAILING LIST AT LEAST FOUR (4) BUSINESS DAYS FROM THE REQUESTED MAILING DATE. This facilitates job processing by allowing time for successful, complete file importing. In the event your print or mail schedule changes, please inform us immediately; we will make every effort to accommodate the revision.
SERVICE REFUSAL AND TERMINATION
By submitting a print job, you represent and warrant that you have all necessary rights in and to such a print job; that such print job shall not infringe any intellectual property, proprietary or other rights of third party; and that such print job does not contain any viruses, or other contaminating or destructive devices or features. We reserve the right to refuse service to, or terminate the order of any customer, for any reason, including, but not limited to offensive, unlawful, obscene, malicious or otherwise objectionable material. By submitting a print job, you agree to defend, indemnify and hold Shapco and the Affiliated Parties harmless from and against any breach or alleged breach of any of our representations, warranties or undertakings hereunder.
Standard-A (formerly 3rd Class) Mail offers the most economical alternative for delivery of your direct mail piece, but delivery times may be longer than First Class service; this information should help in planning a realistic schedule.
Please note: Standard mailings can have large variations in delivery times due to the time of year and volume of mail flow. For instance, Standard Rate may take considerably longer at peak mailing periods such as the holidays. We assume no responsibility for delays caused by US Postal Service or any damages resulting from the failure to receive a job on time. The expected delivery date is not guaranteed by US Postal Service or by us.
If you are mailing a time dated piece, be sure to include requested delivery date when placing your order.
Data lists should be in ASCII, Excel, Access or DBase formats. The list should contain a header format. We will perform address standardization, zip correct, add zip +4 designation, add postnet barcode, CASS & PAVE certify.
To allow sufficient time for deposit with the U.S. Postal Service, when you use our mailing permit number we require that all bank checks, money order and wire transfer payments to cover postage be in our possession three days before your mail date. If a postage deposit is not received, we cannot advance the postage required, and the U.S. Postal Service will not accept your mail. UNDER ABSOLUTELY NO CIRCUMSTANCES WILL POSTAGE BE REFUNDED FOR ANY REASON ONCE A JOB HAS BEEN MAILED BY THE U.S. POST OFFICE. Please make certain that you have advanced adequate postage to cover your entire mailing, including the foreign portions. When using your own permit, funds must be deposited the day prior to the scheduled drop date and a copy of the postal receipt faxed to our office. If funds have not been deposited, causing us to bring the mail back, you will be charged a trip fee.
LIMITATIONS OF LIABILITY FOR MAILING SERVICES
OUR LIABILITY FOR ANY ERROR, MISTAKE, OR FAILURE TO PERFORM SERVICES HEREUNDER IS EXPRESSLY LIMITED TO THE AMOUNT ACTUALLY PAID TO US BY YOU FOR THE SERVICES RESULTING IN SUCH ERROR, MISTAKE, OR FAILURE TO PERFORM.
